Petrou, Anastasios
Anastasios Petrou was born in Athens, Greece. He studied mechanical engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), specialising in mechanical design and automatic control. During his degree, he developed a power generation product that blossomed into a start-up company. He then wrote his thesis on optimisation algorithms for power plant energy production at the Technical University Munich (TUM). A project at NTUA aroused his interest in control systems used in biomedical applications. His research focuses on the development of control systems that enable the physiological adaptation of ventricular assist devices.
