Rebholz, Mathias
Mathias grew up on the banks of Lake Constance, Germany. He studied mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich and UC Berkeley, specialising in dynamic systems and control. An internship in Santa Barbara, California, aroused his interest in biomedical engineering and the application of control systems on physiological systems. Continuing this work during his doctoral research, he focuses on the system integration and control of ventricular assist devices (heart pumps). He is also looking into control methods in soft materials.
In his spare time Mathias enjoys competing in international sailing or triathlon events.
