Raul San Miguel

Raul was born in Pamplona, in northern Spain. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, also spending a year at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta as an exchange student. His bachelor’s thesis centered on the development of a finite element code. He expanded his interest on this topic by completing a master’s degree in Computational Mechanics at the Technical University of Munich, where he was involved in several projects dealing with computational design and topology optimization for fabrication. At PDZ, Raul aims to expand the capabilities of design engineers by integrating machine learning tools into automated design pipelines for additive manufacturing and other processes. In his spare time, you will find Raul playing football, hiking, on his bike, or cooking.
