Ferchow, Julian
Julian Ferchow is the head of the research group “Design for New Technologies”. He graduated from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) as a mechanical engineer (M.Sc.) in 2016. Since 2017, Julian has been working on several industrial research projects at Inspire AG with a focus on Design for Additive Manufacturing and product development. Under the supervision of Prof. Mirko Meboldt, he completed his doctorate at ETH Zürich in the research field of the industrialization of additive manufacturing in 2021.
New Technologies such as Additive Manufacturing and Smart Cameras have a large potential to automate production and improve quality. In his research, Julian is interested in the implementation of Additive Manufacturing and New Technologies in industrial series production. His goal is, to tackle the core challenges of New Technologies and to identify new applications to increase the added value of products and services.
