Simon Ritter

Simon grew up in Liechtenstein and combines hands-on engineering with computational approaches. He completed an apprenticeship as a Konstrukteur before earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich, contributing to projects in mass-customization and additive manufacturing at pdz. He expanded his expertise with a Master’s in Applied Computational Life Sciences at ZHAW, focusing ondata processing, simulation, and machine learning.

 Before rejoining pdz, Simon gained experience in the MedTech industry, designing components for medical devices, performing structural and fluid simulations, and supporting prototyping and testing activities.

His interests lie at the intersection of mechanical design and computational methods. With experience in additive manufacturing, design automation, and machine learning, he is particularly motivated by approaches that integrate physical prototyping with simulation and data-driven methods. Outside of work, Simon enjoys cycling and the outdoors.
