ADDit
The Additive Manufacturing (AM) Technology opens up new paths in construction and product development. Our goal is to show the benefits of AM for industrial applications by developing a cordless hammer drill.
Our interdisciplinary team consists of six mechanical and two electrical engineering students from ETH Zurich and two industrial design students from ZHdK. During the 2014/15 autumn and spring semesters, we developed a cordless hammer drill that features the following aspects of AM:
- Lightweight construction with bionic structures
- Increase in performance thanks to optimised cooling
- Integration of functions such as sensors and dust extraction
- Individualisation thanks to improved and personalised ergonomics
