Swiss Cobotics Competence Center S3C starts Technology Transfer
The pd|z has become a key scientific member of the newly founded S3C, an innovative technology transfer center to strenghten the implementation of collaborative robots in Swiss industry.
Collaborative robotics (Cobotics) shows high potential to increase flexibility and productivity in manufacturing and thus to maintain production sites and jobs in Switzerland. The objective of the S3C technology transfer center is to scale up and broaden the application of cobotics in Swiss manufacturing industry.
Since collaborative robotics heavily depends on understanding human-robot-interactions, our long-standing experience in measuring and processing behavioral data is key for the ongoing implemenation of cobotic technology in Swiss industry. Based on sensor fusion, combining eye tracking and hand tracking with the latest object detection and tool pose estimation methods, we will foster an intuitive interaction of human and robots, taking into account the overall working process as well as individual intentions and safety restrictions.
As scientific member of the S3C network we provide custom-fit development support and test environments for industrial cobot projects jointly exploring novel solutions, in which humans and robots work together perfectly.
