Agile Hardware Development

Engineering Simulator Bender

While Agile methods have proven to be very effective for the development of software, fundamental characteristics of physical products hinder the direct translation to the hardware domain. We have developed a training that simulates a hardware development project to teach principles of Agile in a realistic and immersive way.

The teaching module is built around a a physical wire bending machine. Participants in groups of four design, manufacture and test modifications for the technical system within an authentic engineering and production setting. The training mimics typical roles, processes and tools of industrial engineering teams to realistically reflect the challenges of applying Agile Hardware Development (AHD).
